Privacy Policy
Last updated 20 August 2026. UKPropertyInsight ("we", "us") is operated as a UK-based property due-diligence service at ukpropertyinsight.co.uk. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
What we collect
Searching an address, the core of the site, needs no account and stores nothing about you. The postcode/address you look up is sent to the official public data sources listed on our methodology page purely to fetch the relevant public facts about that location, the same way it would be if you queried each of those sources yourself.
We do log which pages get visited and when, to understand overall traffic, but only the page path and timestamp (and your account if you happen to be logged in already), never an IP address, device fingerprint, or any other way to identify an anonymous visitor. This is our own server logging it, not a third-party analytics service, and it isn't used to track you across visits or build a profile of anyone.
The UKPropertyInsight browser extension
The extension only activates on Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket property listing pages. It scans the visible page text for a UK postcode. Nothing else on the page is read, recorded, or sent anywhere, and sends that postcode to ukpropertyinsight.co.uk to fetch the same public report data the website shows. It does not track your browsing on any other site, collect browsing history, or run on any page outside those three listing sites.
If you log in through the extension, your session token is stored locally in your browser's own extension storage (never sent to us except to authenticate your own requests) so you stay logged in across listings without re-entering your password each time. Logging out from the extension clears it immediately. We don't sell or share extension usage data with third parties, and the extension carries no advertising or analytics of any kind.
Why we collect it, and who we share it with
Account and billing data exists solely to run the service you've asked for: logging you in, remembering your watchlist, and processing a subscription you've chosen to pay for. We don't sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
A small number of processors handle data on our behalf, each only for what's needed to run the service: Stripe (payment processing), Neon (database hosting for accounts/watchlist/reviews), and Render (web hosting). Each is contractually bound to only use your data to provide that service to us.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us at any time to: see a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, delete your account and associated data, or withdraw any consent you've given. Email support@ukpropertyinsight.co.uk for any of these. We'll respond within 30 days as required by law. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data protection regulator.
Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (or ask us to), we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep billing records for longer (typically 6 years, for UK tax purposes).
Other things worth knowing
This service isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version, and any significant change will be highlighted here.
